City of Statesboro provides new resource to report illegal wrecker services

The city of Statesboro has added a new feature to its website where anyone can file a complaint regarding wrecker services. The website also provides a helpful summary of towing fee guidelines for students, residents and visitors. In an effort to further support the community, the Statesboro Police Department is addressing allegations of wrecker services operating using illegal means, specifically “non-consensual towing,” when vehicles are removed from private property at the property owner’s request.
Individuals are encouraged to file a complaint online if they feel a violation of local ordinances has occurred. Each complaint will be reviewed by the Statesboro Police Department and action will be taken if necessary.
