The Gamma Lambda Chapter Represents Georgia Southern University at the 2025 Pi Sigma Epsilon National Convention

Professional networking, scholarship, competition, education, and relationship building were on the agenda as Pi Sigma Epsilon held its 2025 National Convention in Cincinnati.

STATESBORO, GA (March 28, 2025) – The Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) National Convention offered students the opportunity to network with industry experts, thought leaders, and fellow participants who share a passion for personal and professional development. Held in Cincinnati, OH, the 2025 convention offered a wide range of sessions, panel discussions, competitions, and professional development workshops.

The PSE National Convention hosted several individual competitions, including The Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon® National Sales Competition, The National Speakers Competition, The Sports Selling Competition presented by the New York Mets, and The Interview Competition presented by Mutual of Omaha. In addition, students had the opportunity to compete in The National Scholarship Program with the opportunity to be awarded one of 20 scholarships, totaling more than $60,000.

“As the Gamma Lambda Chapter continues to grow at Georgia Southern University, I congratulate the members who earned their way to Cincinnati to represent Georgia Southern University at the PSE National Convention,” remarks Travis Brickey, Director of the Center for Sales Excellence and Advisor of the Professional Business Fraternity. “The students representing Georgia Southern at the national convention included Tyler Goddard, Maya London, Lucas Schultz, Joseph Tarwater, and Patrick Wilds. I am extremely proud of these students, many first-time competitors, who represented the university with dignity and class amongst their peer institutions.”

Georgia Southern’s Gamma Lambda Chapter earned the following honors:

The Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon® Competition

  • Tyler Goddard – Top 35 Finalist
  • Lucas Schultz – Top 35 Finalist

The Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon® National Sales Competition is a year-long competition to train and develop students in all aspects of the sales process. The year-long approach also emphasizes that the pursuit of sales excellence is a journey, not a destination. Students strive to understand the value of approaching sales as a deliberate and repeatable process. Before the convention, contestants had to complete sales modules developed by Carew International. The sales call itself took the form of a 12-minute sales role-play, which had more than 160 elite PSE sales students representing universities from across the nation competing.

“We had such a wonderful trip to Cincinnati! I was very proud to represent the Gamma Lambda Chapter at Georgia Southern University. We all had a tremendous time bonding and networking with other chapters within PSE as well as the many corporate partners,” notes Tyler Goddard, a Junior majoring in Marketing with an emphasis in Sales & Sales Management from the Parker College of Business. “I competed in the Pro-Am-Sell-A-Thon and was able to move on to the second round. Only 35 students out of 162 reached this mark. Being a first-time competitor and participant at the PSE National Conference was an experience I will never forget!”

The Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon® Competition

  • Patrick Wilds – Top 20 Finalist

The goal of The Interview Competition is to give students the opportunity to learn interview techniques, practice interviewing with a live judge, and compete for prizes. Sponsored by Mutual of Omaha, this competition provides students with the opportunity to network and build relationships with potential employers. More than 100 competitors were judged on criteria based on what was learned from the interview guide that was provided, as well as each pre-training session.

“I truly could not be more grateful to have been selected for this opportunity,” remarked Lucas Schultz, a Junior majoring in Marketing with an emphasis in Sales & Sales Management from the Parker College of Business. “The faith Professor Brickey had in me to compete, representing Georgia Southern University at the PSE National Convention, inspired me to give my best effort! I know that sales is the path that God has chosen for me.”

The Gamma Lambda Chapter at Georgia Southern University extends its deepest gratitude to the corporate partners of the Center for Sales Excellence. Only with your support are opportunities like this possible for our students as we work together to mentor and develop the sales leaders of the next generation. Our program and students are extremely grateful for your commitment to sales education.
