Biography
Workplace relationships are foundational to virtually every aspect of work, yet research on workplace relationships has developed in a fragmented fashion (Heaphy et al., 2018). Kevin’s research on the negative and positive relationships that exist between employers and employees, leaders and followers, team members, and co-workers, as well as how neurodiversity affects these relationships, seeks to help integrate these fragmented streams of research to have a more accurate understanding of workplace relationships. His research also advocates the best methodological approaches for studying workplace relationships, and for the management field as a whole, to ensure research studies are as valid and reliable as possible. Kevin’s research is published or forthcoming in Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business and Psychology, Group & Organization Management, International Journal of Human Resource Management, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, Human Performance, Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology, Journal of Management & Organization, and Occupational Health Science. His research has been recognized with several awards, such as the 2015 Southwest Academy of Management Annual Conference McGraw-Hill Distinguished Paper Award (Best Overall Conference Paper) and a 2017 Journal of Business and Psychology Editor Commendation. Kevin’s research and expertise have also appeared in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Fast Company, and Business Insider Deutschland, among other news outlets. Kevin serves as a senior associate editor for Group and Organization Management and as an editorial board member for Personnel Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Journal of Business and Psychology.
