Biography
Lindsay Levine, Ph.D., professor of marketing, was born and raised in New York. Her undergraduate training at Vassar College was focused on animal models of learning and behavior. Her graduate work in social cognition at Yale was conducted under the advisement of John A. Bargh, Ph.D., and Ezequiel Morsella, Ph.D., as a member of the Automaticity in Cognition Motivation and Evaluation Laboratory (featured in the book Before You Know It: The Unconscious Reasons We Do What We Do). After completion of the doctorate, Levine held several faculty positions within Psychology Departments in New York, Vermont, and Florida, teaching topics in cognitive psychology, social psychology, and organizational psychology. While living in Florida, she completed post-doctoral work at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business, applying her expertise in psychology to the field of marketing. She took a position with the Parker College of Business in 2011.
As a social psychologist, Levine has research interests focused on consumer judgment and decision-making. Her work has been published in a variety of academic journals, and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal. Her publications have won ‘best paper of the year’ in 2017 from the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, and ‘top downloaded paper’ in 2024 from the Journal of Consumer Services.
Levine currently teaches in the areas of marketing management and professional sales, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. She assisted in the development of the Parker College Center for Sales Excellence, and formerly served as president of the Association of Marketing Theory & Practice.
