LGBTQ+ ERG

Overview

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning+ ERG (LGBTQ+ ERG) is to be a strategic partner with the Office of Inclusive Excellence at Georgia Southern University and shall exist solely to promote a culture of inclusive excellence and belonging among faculty and staff.

Mission

The LGBTQ+ ERG will promote a culture of inclusion through continual learning. The vision, mission, goals, policies, and activities of the LGBTQ+ ERG are to promote the recruitment and retention of employees as well as provide support for employee families, LGBTQ+ students, and the education of the University community about LGBTQ+ issues. The LGBTQ+ ERG will be a valuable mechanism to: (1) build a culture that fosters awareness, respect, and inclusion in the workplace; (2) establish programs and activities aligned with the mission of Georgia Southern University and the action plan of the OIE; (3) provide employees opportunities to develop and grow, and for supervisors to identify solutions to recruit and retain valuable employees at Georgia Southern University.

ERG Focus

The LGBTQ+ ERG aims to support, through programming and resources, all Georgia Southern employees who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and other. All employees are welcomed to join and support our focus.
