Our annual homecoming TRUE BLUE 5K is all about showing your Georgia Southern True Blue pride! Walk or run, this race is for anyone looking for a fun run through the beautiful Georgia Southern Statesboro campus. This year’s race will include a virtual option so you can participate from anywhere in the world! Join us for a great cause and join us for a fun run!
Abbie’s Adventure Race Path

Abbie’s Adventure Race is a fun spin on the typical 5k race! The race will consist of a 5K course with various mental, physical and fun challenges spread throughout – plan for mud and water! Walk or run, this race is for anyone looking for a unique and exciting way to participate in Homecoming events! So grab a partner, sign up and get ready for an adventure!
Register for the race and support the Abbie Deloach Foundation, run/walk your own route and share your photo with us by posting to your social media using #trueblue5k.

Packet Pick-up in the RAC Lobby:
- Friday, October 18 from 12:00 – 7:00pm in the RAC lobby
- Saturday, October 19 from 7:00 – 7:30am in the RAC Lobby
Additional Notes
- Race T-Shirts and medals guaranteed to those who register by September 13.
- Online registration closes at 11:59pm on Thursday, October 17. In-person registration available October 18 & 19 at the Recreation Activity Center (RAC).
- Anyone can register and list the organization they want to receive points towards the Abbie Deloach Foundation Contest. You do not have to be a member of that organization to support them. The campus organization with the most registrations will be awarded a $1,000 donation.
- Students are able to collect homecoming points by participating in this event.

Q: Do I have to be in the state of Georgia/From Georgia to do this event?
A: No, the race is open to anyone in the world! If you’re not local, just sign up for the virtual race.
Q: I chose to pick up my packet. When do I do this?
A: Once you sign up and choose the pick-up option, your packet will be curated and you will receive an email when it is ready to be picked up. Please understand due to a few factors your packet may not be ready immediately.
Q: I chose to have my packet shipped to me, when will I receive it
A: Once you sign up and choose the mail option, your packet will be curated and will be sent to you. Please understand due to a few factors your packet may not be ready immediately.
Q: I just want to run and I don’t need the shirt and medal, can I do that?
A: Absolutely! Simply select the option to donate your race fee.
Q: Do I have to record my miles?
A: Absolutely not! But we’d love to see your photos from your run so we can all celebrate together! Post your photos to social media and tag with @GSUCampusRec and #trueblue5k.
Q: How is my time recorded during the event?
A: Your time is recorded from the moment your timing chip crosses the start line until it crosses the finish line.
Q: Do I have to run or can I walk?
A: You can Run, Walk, Run/walk, any way you can to get the miles. It’s your challenge, as long as you are purposefully moving, it counts.
Q: For the virtual run, do I have to complete the race by the in-person race date?
A: Nope! You can complete the race at any point before or after. We just want to see you moving!
Q: Is there a planned course?
A: For our virtual participants, you can complete the race ANYWHERE! For in-person runners, we will have an outlined race course through the Georgia Southern Statesboro campus.
