Entrepreneurship Education in Engineering Technology
Dr. Luke Pittaway of the College of Business Administration and Dr. Anoop Desai of the Allen E. Paulson College of Science and Technology have just submitted a $200k grant to the National Science Foundation to develop and embed entrepreneurship education in all Technology Engineering programs at Georgia Southern University.
The proposal is designed to help start offering entrepreneurship education that is embedded in all technology engineering majors (approximately 1200 students across Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology and Construction Management). If the bid is successful the program will enable students to unleash their creative potential for developing new products and services.
The course will introduce business concepts and entrepreneurial skills to help engineering technologists identify business opportunities, develop workable business plans, take measured risks and help develop profitable enterprises that will assist regional economic development.
