Service Industries Journal Editorial Board
The Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership would like to congratulate Dr. Luke Pittaway for being the newest member of the Editorial Review Board for the Service Industries Journal.
The Services Industries Journal was founded in 1981 by five lecturers at Manchester Polytechnic in Britain (now Manchester Metropolitan University), as the first academic journal devoted to research in services. It was intended to be broad and social science-based, reflecting the founders’ backgrounds in economics, human resource management, marketing and law. The founding editor, Gary Akehurst (now affiliated with the universities of Winchester, Portsmouth, and Aberystwyth in the UK), has led the journal successfully in this role for over thirty years. At present, the SIJ is entering its 32nd year (2012), and currently holds an ISI impact factor of 1.071 (2011).
Eileen Bridges, the Editor-in-Chief of the Service Industries Journal, recognizes that Dr. Pittaway’s expertise and experience qualifies him to serve on SIJ’s Editorial Review Board, and he will contribute to helping to improve the quality and impact of the research in services that the journal publishes.
