Statesboro Campus Positions
Operations Assistant
Our Operations Assistants are the hands and fee of our operation. They are responsible for the overall logistics setting up the Large Events in our two facilities. Completion of other tasks/assignments as assigned.
Desk Assistant
Our Desk Assistants are the face and voice of our operation. They ensure that each guest and student are greeted and respond to daily needs of each patron. Desk Assistants are responsible for providing great customer service by using a positive attitude and utilizing problem-solving skills to obtain information for customers. Desk Assistants also receive incoming calls, answer questions, take messages, stock university maps/brochures and maintain a clean and professional work area. Assistants also provide approval of event posting materials within the facility while adhering to union policies and procedures.
Reservations Assistant
The Reservation Assistants are the heart of our operation. They provide assistance to those who want to reserve space in the Russell Union and Williams Center, including the President’s Board Room, meetings/conference rooms and outdoor spaces. They enforce University and Union policy for student groups, university departments and outside guests. Other responsibilities include: making reservations for clients and guests, updating room diagrams, processing van reservations, and assisting with the overall function of the office.
Breakdown of duties:
- 50% Answering phones and assisting walk-in customers; scheduling meetings with staff; obtaining additional details regarding upcoming events, filing, and processing van reservations
- 40% Learning reservations software and input of reservation requests
- 10% Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Audio Visual Assistant
The AV Assistants are the ears and mouth of our operation. Then ensure that all events are heard and seen the way the client or organization wishes. The Audio/Visual assistant is responsible for the A/V equipment, A/V systems, and events requiring A/V that are held in and outside the Russell Union, Williams Center, and special locations. AV assistants must be attentive to the needs of the customer and compassionate of guests who are not technically savvy. They must be a team player, who is familiar with union policies and have a willingness to help any department with any needs to exceed the customers’ expectations. Being able to troubleshoot and work under minimal supervision is a must. The Audio/Visual Assistants reports to the Audio/Visual Coordinator for scheduling and assignments.

Facilities Assistant
Our Facilities Assistants are responsible for reviewing daily setup reports, and for the setup and break down of equipment and fixtures for events in and around the Student Union, Memorial College Center, and associated facilities.
In order to apply, the applicant must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at Georgia Southern.
