ACCUPLACER: Dual Enrollment

Testing Fee: FREE There is no charge for dual enrollment students to pay for the ACCUPLACER when testing on-campus.

Dual Enrollment

Ready to start dual enrollment at Georgia Southern University? Prior to taking the ACCUPLACER, all testers must submit their application for admission to Georgia Southern. Testing cannot take place until a student identification number has been issued and an application is on file. If you have not submitted your application, apply here. Taking the ACCUPLACER for Dual Enrollment requires the tester to take all three components on their first attempt, The exam which consists of

  • Next-Generation Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (20-questions untimed- required minimum score: 258);
  • Next-Generation Reading (20 questions untimed- required minimum score: 237);
  • WritePlacer (60 minute essay exam- – required minimum score: 4)

When you are ready to test, contact your respective Testing Office to schedule an on-campus appointment (preferred option). There is no registration fee for on-campus testing.

There is no registration fee for on-campus testing. If you are unable to come to campus to test, there are two additional options for testing but these do require a registration fee: 1) test at another institution using a remote voucher issued by the Testing Office or 2) testing with an online proctor with appointments 24/7 with a remote voucher. Note: The online proctor will record your testing session, testers must be in a private location, and Chromebooks are not supported.

Scheduling Your Appointment

To schedule your appointment Monday – Friday between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with the last exam starting at 3:00 pm, please contact the offices based on your testing location:

If enrolling on the Savannah or Liberty Campus, contact the Office of Testing Services – Savannah Campus, at 912-344-2582 or e-mail testingsav@georgiasouthern.edu.

If enrolling on the Statesboro Campus, contact the Office of Testing Services- Statesboro Campus at 912-478-5415 or email testing@georgiasouthern.edu.

Note: Some area high schools will have the Georgia Southern Office of Testing Services administer the ACCUPLACER at the high school. Please talk with your counselor to see if this is an option.

Remember there is no charge for taking the exam on any of the Georgia Southern campuses.

Retesting

Testers can retest if needed in only the section that is required based on their scores.

July 2022 Updated Accuplacer Retesting Policy

Testers may retest up to three times per semester. The following guidelines apply:

  • Testers must wait at least 7 days prior to the second attempt.
  • Testers seeking a third attempt must wait 30 days before retesting and complete the required study materials.
    • Contact the Georgia Southern University Coordinator of Testing Services for access to the review material.
