Nipuna’s leadership journey began at Georgia Southern, where he served as Student Government Association President during the Armstrong-Georgia Southern consolidation. He founded the Student Alumni Association and Rotary Club, and led initiatives such as the Armstrong Memorial Fountain dedication and the establishment of the Chief Diversity Officer office. As an alumnus, Nipuna remains deeply involved, serving on the Parker College Young Alumni Board and the Alumni Board of Directors. He mentors current students, was the the Georgia Southern 2024 National Volunteer Month speaker. His advice: Build meaningful connections and leverage every opportunity to develop both academically and personally.

Mackenzie Anderson is instrumental in shaping Nike’s executive and purpose-driven communications. Her work includes Nike’s Impact Report, Get Out the Vote efforts, and Juneteenth programming. Previously, she was with The Coca-Cola Company, the Atlanta Braves, and the Georgia Aquarium, where she won two Emmy Awards for ocean conservation programming. Named to PRWEEK’s 40 Under 40 in 2019, Mackenzie is a member of the Women of Nike Leadership team. She was a Spring 2024 commencement speaker and keynote at the Southern Women Leadership Institute. Her advice for students: Be Curious.
Alyssa Barnes (’10)

Alyssa attributes her success to her transformative experience at Georgia Southern University, where she gained crucial skills and insights through coursework and mentorship from professors like Dr. Stone. As the Midday host and Digital Content Creator “Danie B” on V103, a top Atlanta radio station, she reaches millions with her dynamic presence. Alyssa also dedicates herself to community service, including a recent food giveaway with Hosea Helps. As an alumna, she actively mentors students and supports the Xi Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta. Alyssa promotes Georgia Southern on air and encourages students to seize opportunities and follow their dreams.
