Paid Residency Program
Are you ready?
What is a Paid Residency?
The Paid Residency Program is a collaborative initiative between the Georgia Southern University College of Education (COE) and two school systems: Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) and Bulloch County Schools (BCS). This initiative provides an opportunity for selected COE teacher candidates in BSEd undergraduate and MAT graduate programs in Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, and Secondary Education to be hired as a Teacher Resident – a full time teacher of record – during the final year of their program.
Two paid residents are paired with a mentor teacher whose sole responsibility is to support residents.
