Science Olympiad
Founded in 1984, Science Olympiad is the premier team STEM competition in the nation, providing standards-based challenges to 6,000 teams at 425 tournaments in all 50 states. Georgia Southern is proud to be a host for the annual Science Olympiad Division C Regional competition. This science competition provides rigorous, standards-based challenges to high school teams in the Southeast region.
2024-2025 Science Olympiad
This year’s competition is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Georgia Southern University Statesboro campus. High school students from across Georgia in grades 9-12 will participate in over 23 STEM academic events held in the College of Education (COE), Chemistry/Nursing, Military Science (MSB), and Engineering Research (ERB) buildings. Competition organizers are looking for volunteers to make this event a success.
Call for Volunteers
We are asking for volunteers to commit to a three-hour time slot. Volunteer duties may include assisting event supervisors with:
- set up and take down procedures
- grading tests, and proctoring exams
- event scorekeeping
On the day of the event, lunch will be provided to all volunteers.
