The Master of Accounting program at Georgia Southern University equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for accounting and financial careers in today’s constantly changing business environment. The online Master of Accounting program at Georgia Southern University provides individuals with the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree without disrupting their personal and work lives. The two year program is designed to fit the needs of working professionals, with students taking two courses each fall and spring, and one course each summer. Classes are taught by the faculty in our AACSB accredited School of Accountancy, a distinction held by only 180 accounting programs worldwide. Our courses are designed to mirror the rigor and quality of our traditional campus program. Quality and flexibility make the WebMAcc a great choice!

Admission Requirements

Admission to the Master of Accounting program is competitive. The admissions committee looks at a variety of criteria that measure the candidate’s potential for being a successful graduate student and organizational leader. To apply, applicants must have:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution (Official transcripts from all credit-granting institutions attended must be submitted).
  • Statement of Purpose essay describing the applicant’s potential for success in the program.
  • Resume detailing both work experience and education.
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores (if applicant does not hold a degree from a program or university where English is the official language of instruction).
  • Completed application form.
  • Completed employer sponsor agreement (AMAcc program only).

Georgia Southern is a military-friendly institution. Additional consideration is given to applicants with service in any military branch, reserve unit, or National Guard (active, retired, or prior service; Form DD 214 #4 required). Admission decisions are made shortly after a complete application has been received. Submit the application online at the College of Graduate Studies website.

Advanced Bachelor’s to Master’s (ABM) Information

Qualified students may be eligible for an accelerated bachelor’s to master’s (ABM) program. ABM programs allow you to begin graduate studies in your senior year so you can accelerate completion of a graduate degree. You’ll earn both a bachelor’s and a graduate degree faster. And since any graduate courses taken as an undergraduate are billed at the undergraduate tuition rate, you’ll save money too. Learn more about accelerated bachelor’s to master’s programs.
