Motorpool Now Fully Operational – Important Travel Reimbursement Reminder
Dear Campus Community,
We are pleased to announce that the new Motorpool is now fully operational on both the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses. University-owned vehicles are now available to support official travel needs and improve cost-efficiency across all departments.
As a reminder, under the State Accounting Office Travel Policy, employees who choose to use their personal vehicles instead of available Motorpool vehicles may only be reimbursed at the Tier 2 mileage rate.
If there is a valid business justification for using a personal vehicle, employees may receive Tier 1 reimbursement, but this justification must be documented on the travel statement at the time of submission — for example, if no university vehicles were available or if the employee requires a specialized vehicle due to a disability.

On the Armstrong Campus, the motorpool is located in the Science Center parking lot near the University Police Department. The kiosk is located inside the Police Department Building.
