Georgia Southern Careers Application Guide
To apply for jobs at Georgia Southern University for the first time you will need to follow the steps below.
- Go to the Georgia Southern Careers portal.
- If you are currently employed by Georgia Southern, access the internal Careers portal and login with your MyGS credentials instead to view internal only posting as well as external postings.
- Create a New Account
- An email address is required to create an account and apply to jobs.

Georgia Southern University does not accept physical paper job applications. You will need to apply online and most correspondence during the application process will be conducted via email.
How to Create a Careers Account
To apply for jobs at Georgia Southern, you must create an account in the careers portal. Follow the steps below to create an account.
- Go to the Georgia Southern Careers Portal.
- Click the “New User” link in the top right of the page to create a new account.
- Fill out the required form to create an account then click the “Register” button in the top right.
- An email address is required to create an account and apply to jobs.

- You must have a valid email address to register for an account.
- Your username and password will be used for future logins—make sure you keep track of these.
How to Get Existing Account Details
- Go to the Careers Portal Login Page.
- Click “Sign In” at the top right.
- If you forgot your username, click “Forgot Username” and enter your email account used when signing up for the Careers account.
- Your username will be sent to the email you have attached to your account.
- If you forgot your password, click “Forgot Password” and enter your username.
- Follow the instructions sent to your email to reset your credentials.

How to Search Job Openings in Careers
Ready to find your next opportunity at Georgia Southern? Follow the steps below.
- Go to the Georgia Southern Careers Portal.
- Click “View All Jobs” underneath the paragraphs on the page.
- Search jobs by specific keywords by using the search bar at the top of the page.
- You can sign up for email notifications of new jobs that match your search by clicking the “Save Search” link underneath the search bar.
- You can filter results by selecting different values in the left sidebar such as job location and full-time/part-time status.
- Click on a job listing for the full job description and details.
- Once you find a job you want to apply for, click the “Apply for Job” button on the top right of the job listing.
How to Apply for a Job Opening in Careers
- Go to the Georgia Southern Careers Portal.
- Click “View All Jobs” underneath the paragraphs on the page.
- Click on the job listing you want to apply for.
- Click the “Apply for Job” button on the top right of the job listing.
- Go through the steps as outlined in the application, filling out the required information and ensuring you attach the appropriate documents when asked.
- The basic requirements for a job application varies based on the requirements of the job.
- A resume, cover letter, and list of references are commonly required for job applications.

- When all of the fields have been filled and the documents attached, click “Submit”
- If you are considered for the position, a hiring manager will reach out to you via email or phone. HR does not manage the hiring process and we will be unable to give you updates on where you are in the process.

- Go to the Google Account Signup page.
- Click the “Create account” link and choose “For my personal use”.
- Enter the prompts on the screen to create your account. There will be multiple screens and you will have to use your phone number to verify your email.
