SUN BELT NEWCOMER
OF THE YEAR

Sophomore Shatalya Dorsett became the first Eagle in history to claim Sun Belt Women’s Indoor Track Newcomer of the Year. She claimed the 60-meter dash with a school-record time of 7.33 seconds at the Sun Belt championships. The sophomore placed fifth in the 200-meter and holds the fifth fastest time in the Sun Belt. Her personal best, 23.56 seconds, in the 200-meter moved her into third all-time in program history. She placed top three in the 60-meter dash in every meet this season.

RECEIVE SUN BELT
CONFERENCE HONORS

Men’s Soccer athletes Harvey Sarajian and Ryan Holmes have been named Sun Belt Conference award winners. Sarajian was announced as the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and First-Team All Conference. He was second on the team in goals, behind Holmes. The 14 points he scored in 2024 were the most by a freshman in program history. Holmes was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and Second-Team All Conference, leading the team with ten goals. He is tied for second in the Sun Belt and tied for 14th nationally.

10 EAGLES EARN
ALL-SUN BELT HONORS

Ten Eagles earned All-Sun Belt honors in 2024. Senior linebacker Marques Watson-Trent was voted Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year and named first-team All-Sun Belt Conference for the second year. Offensive lineman Bryson Broadway, along with defensive backs Chance Gamble and Marc Stampley II, were all named to the second team. Redshirt Caleb Cook and Pichon Wimbley, both of the offensive line, were named to the third team. Four Eagles — receiver Derwin Burgess Jr., linebacker Davon Gilmore, punter Alex Smith and running back Jalen White — earned honorable mention recognition.

CLAY TARGET
TEAM WINS FOURTH
NATIONAL TITLE

The Georgia Southern Clay Target Team dominated at the ACUI Scholastic Clay Target Program Collegiate Clay Target Championships, seizing the 2025 Division II Classic All Around title. The Eagles took the Division II title with a score of 447/500, while several team members also had standout performances.
