Eagle Nation on Parade Unveils Two New Statues
Two statues were recently unveiled on campus by Georgia Southern’s Eagle Nation on Parade, a public arts project that salutes the University’s traditions, celebrates the unity of campus and the community, contributes to the economic vitality and quality of life of the Statesboro community, and supports student scholarships and research initiatives.
A statue called “Pursuit of Knowledge”
is revealed outside the Zach S. Henderson Library on the campus of Georgia
Southern University on Monday, Feb. 13. The fiberglass statue was designed by freelance artist Rebecca
Hampton. The sculpture was commissioned and donated to Georgia Southern by
the Naomi Davis McElveen Memorial Art Fund. Pictured are Trish Carter, chair of

Rose Mae Bogan Millikan stands
with “GSU’s Victory Eagle” in front of the Foy Fine Arts Building on the campus
of Georgia Southern University on Monday, Feb. 13. The fiberglass statue was commissioned and donated by Millikan and
designed by Georgia Southern alumna and Brooklet, Ga., resident Kristina B.
Hall.
