Instructional Technology Professors Contribute to IGI Global Publication

 

Dr. Lucy Santos Green and Dr. Stephanie Jones, both assistant professors of Instructional Technology in the College of Education’s Leadership, Technology and Human Development Department, recently contributed significant work to the publication, Collaborative Models for Librarian and Teacher Partnerships, an IGI Global new title.

Collaborative Models for Librarian and Teacher Partnerships brings together best practices and innovative technological approaches in establishing the media specialist-teacher partnership. Highlighting theoretical concepts of case based learning, knowledge repositories and professional learning communities; the book is a practical guide for professional development specialists, administrators, library media specialists, as well as teacher educators interested in maintaining and developing collaborative instructional partnerships using emerging digital technologies.

A Georgia Southern University faculty member for nearly four years, Santos co-edited the book along with Dr. Kathryn Kennedy, a former Georgia Southern Information Technology professor, and contributed one chapter. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas Baptist University, Marshall, Texas. She earned her Master of Library and Information Science degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas and her Doctor of Education degree in Instructional Technology from Texas Tech University, Lubbock.  She is a native of Fort Worth, Texas.

Jones co-wrote one chapter of the book, titled “Special Collaboration: Establishing Successful Partnerships between School Librarians & Special Educators.” She earned her Bachelor of Art’s degree in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She earned her Master of Librarianship from Emory University in Atlanta. In addition, Jones has a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. Born in Kansas City, Kan., she has been a faculty member at Georgia Southern since 2009.
