Dr. David White Named TAPPI Fellow

Dr. David White, director of Advanced Materials at the Herty Advanced Materials
Development Center in Savannah, has been appointed a Fellow of the Technical Association
of the Paper & Pulp Industry (TAPPI).
TAPPI Fellow is an
honorary title bestowed upon a small percentage of TAPPI’s membership, and is
given to individuals who have made extraordinary technical or service
contributions to the industry. A nonprofit, volunteer-led association, TAPPI is focused on
emerging technologies and driving innovation for the paper and packaging
industry.
A native of Philadelphia, Penn., White earned his bachelor’s, master’s and
doctoral degrees in Chemical Engineering from The University of Pennsylvania,
Philadelphia.
As director of
Advanced Materials, he provides project support and business development for
Herty in areas of wet-laid processing, recycling and development of novel
non-woven structures using synthetic and natural fibers. He is a member of
TAPPI as well as Agenda 2020 Technology Alliance.
TAPPI Fellows receive
a plaque and lapel pin to commemorate their achievement.
