Planetarium Offers Free Saturday Morning Shows for Family Audiences

Georgia Southern University Planetarium is hosting free public shows this summer in the full dome, and you’re invited! See the information below for show times and intended audiences. Saturday, July 12 "Flight Adventures" Audience: 8 years old through adults
  • 10 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m.
"Powerhouses of the Universe" Audience: 8 years old through adults
  • 11 a.m.
  • 11: 30 a.m.
If you plan to attend, keep in mind the following reminders:
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers are not permitted due to fire code safety.
  • Seating takes place in order of arrival.
  • Parking is available in the open-gated faculty and staff parking area located to the left at the end of Herty Drive off of Fair Road/GA Hwy 67. The planetarium is in the Math and Physics Building, on the other side of the parking gates between the Eidson House and the older Biology Building.
Sponsored by the Department of Physics in the College of Science and Mathematics, the event is free and faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend. “We'll be collecting canned and non-perishable food for the Statesboro Food Bank," said  Becky Lowder, astronomy laboratory coordinator.  "Thank you so very much for your donations to help those in need in our community.
