Information Technology Professionals Recognized for Outstanding Service

 

Hilda Hendrix and Trisha Knight earned the 2012 Rebekah Shriver Information Technology Service Award.

The award recognizes the outstanding and exceptional Information Technology (IT) Services employees who have made worthy contributions through service to the department and the University. Endowed by faculty member, Rebekah Shriver to recognize exceptional IT services to the University, it is awarded annually based on nominations and letters of support from the University community.  Each recipient received $500.

“Hilda and Trisha exemplify what every IT professional at Georgia Southern strives to be. They are proficient and hardworking, and most of all demonstrate a great commitment to the University's mission through their expert services.  Hilda and Trisha are supported by co-workers who, as a team, approach every day as an opportunity to help others achieve their goals. I'm very proud to serve the University with these exemplary technology professionals,” says Steven Burrell, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.

Over 29 IT professionals were nominated by the University community. After careful consideration, the review and recommendation committee noted with distinction, seven individuals who also will receive honorable mention for their great service over the past year:

  • Sonya Chance
  • Sara McNure
  • Ron Connor
  • Dan Rivera
