Eagle Battalion Cadet Graduates Leadership Training
This has been a challenging yet rewarding summer for Georgia Southern University ROTC Cadet Brian Williams. On July 12, the member of the Eagle Battalion graduated from the Leader’s Training Course (LTC) at Fort Knox, Ky.
Williams was among the 179 Alpha Company cadets who finished 29 days of training that tested their mental and physical fitness. Williams completed training exercises that included a 55-foot rappel tower, waterborne training, rifle marksmanship and climbing and ropes courses.
At the LTC, cadets learn to face their fears, overcome obstacles and motivate each other. The course also promotes leadership, teamwork and military values. The graduating cadets qualify for entry as third-year students in the ROTC program and are on their way to becoming officers in the U.S. Army.
The Leader’s Training Course is an intense four-week introduction to Army life and leadership training of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. The course aims to motivate and qualify cadets for entry into the Senior ROTC program.
