Hard Work Pays Off for Georgia Southern ROTC Cadet
A cadet in the Georgia Southern University ROTC Eagle Battalion has been recognized for his outstanding accomplishments and performance during the 2013 Leader Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) at Watkins Field on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
William Westervelt was honored on July 11 as the top overall cadet and honor graduate from Bravo Company, 2nd Regiment. He successfully completed 29 days of training to become an effective military leader. He was among 885 reserve officers’ training corps cadets participating in the LDAC.
The ROTC Eagle Battalion is comprised of cadets from Georgia Southern, Armstrong Atlantic State University and Savannah State University. Cadet Westervelt has one more semester of ROTC and classes at Armstrong before graduating. He will be commissioned into the U.S. Army in December.
