Shooting Sports Education Center Groundbreaking

Georgia Southern University will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Shooting Sports Education Center at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the corner of Old Register Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway. The location is across from MC Anderson Pavilion at the Recreation Activity Center (RAC).

The 20,000 to 25,000 square foot center will include public indoor archery and firing ranges and an outdoor archery range. This is a partnership between Georgia Southern and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to educate hunters and archers to be responsible shooting sports enthusiasts and promote safe firearms and bow handling. The facility will also be the home of the Georgia Southern rifle team.

Students, faculty, staff and the community are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony.
