Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health Observes National Public Health Week

The Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health (JPHCOPH) in partnership with the Georgia Southern Public Health Student Association is recognizing National Public Health Week until April 13 to bring awareness to health through educational and physical activities. Several events scheduled throughout the week will engage students with public health-oriented activities on campus: Wednesday, April 9 | Public Health Starts with You | 7:30 p.m. | Russell Union Rotunda This event will promote awareness of human trafficking through education and interactive activities. Thursday, April 10 | Scavenger Hunt The scavenger hunt will take place all day around Georgia Southern’s campus to show participants the importance of interdisciplinary work and collaboration within the public health community. The event will end at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health. Friday, April 11 |Relay for Life | Paulson Stadium Join the Public Health Student Association’s Relay for Life team with Eta Sigma Gamma. Saturday, April 12 | Public Health Celebration | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Hendricks Hall The week will culminate with a public health celebration by promoting health status awareness of individuals. During the event, interactive stations will include blood pressure monitoring, BMI and blood glucose reporting, CPR training and information sessions on how to use the Automated External Defibrillator machines that are supplied in buildings throughout campus. Participants will enjoy great food, a bounce house and obstacle course. For more information, contact B.J.
