Dean of Students
Mission
The Dean of Students Office supports student learning and success by providing a safe and inclusive environment for Georgia Southern students and their support network, where they can connect with community resources. We value care, self-advocacy, integrity, and accountability.
Philosophy
As the primary student advocate, our philosophy of care approaches crisis intervention and student development with empathetic and personalized support. We utilize a holistic, student-centered approach to promote a community of care and empowerment throughout our university.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students can articulate services and/or resources offered by the Dean of Students Office.
- Students will express how their interactions with the Dean of Students Office supported their student success.
- Students who attend Bingo for Your Budget will demonstrate a 15% increase in knowledge and awareness of food insecurity on college campuses.
- At the end of their volunteer experience, student food pantry volunteers will demonstrate a 20% increase in knowledge and awareness of food insecurity on college campuses.
