Student-led, student-read! We are the George-Anne Media Group!
Students have the first and last word on news coverage and content of all George-Anne Media Group outlets. That’s part of the reason why nobody reaches the Georgia Southern University community like we do. Our email newsletter was opened 2.6 million times in the year ended May 11, 2023. Our website was visited more than 400,000 times. Behind those big numbers are many efforts to engage students every day.
What we’re all about
Newsletters:
Every day when classes are in session, thousands of students (and faculty and staff) open our daily email newsletters.
The stories included in the newsletters are completely organized and written by students.
Newspapers:
We distribute thousands of our printed newspapers across campus.
Social Media:
From skits, to day-in-the life videos, to breaking news, we post hundreds of videos on social media each semester.
Student-Run TV Show:
Our award-winning Your Newsroom group creates a TV show weekly that is written, edited, produced and filmed ALL by students.
No experience? No problem!
No experience is required and we provide training!
On the Statesboro campus, we engage students through:
- The George-Anne Statesboro Edition in print monthly during the fall and spring semesters.
- Daily email newsletters from The George-Anne Reflector.
- Daily engaging videos from George-Anne Films.
- Photography and content from Deep Dive.
- Your Newsroom, an award-winning daily video news service with a weekly news show.
- Email newsletter five days a week when classes are in session, including the weekly Deep Dive email newsletter, focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.
- The Reflector feature magazine once per year.

On the Armstrong campus, we engage students through:
