Graduates: Take Your Final Stroll as a Georgia Southern Student Friday
The University Programming Board (UPB) is hosting the spring 2014 Lantern Walk on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m. beginning at Sweetheart Circle. A long standing tradition held at the end of each semester, The Lantern Walk marks the last opportunity for seniors to walk around campus with family and friends as Georgia Southern students. Originally, those participating would dress in cap and gown and light buckets of lard to guide their way through campus and reminisce about their years at Georgia Southern University. Now, graduates don cap and gown and light lanterns, provided by UPB, to take their final stroll through campus. All families and friends of graduates are invited to attend the event.
