How can I sign up for the Junior Rifle Club?
Please contact us via email at ssec@georgiasouthern.edu.
The Junior Rifle Club at the Shooting Sports Education Center (SSEC) trains and develops young athletes pursuing their passion in rifle, while encouraging and developing good sportsmanship, discipline, mental strength and integrity.
The Junior Rifle Club is the next step for those looking for skill development, meet new people, compete, share one’s passion for shooting and work toward a possible dream of competing in the Olympic games. If currently on a high school rifle team, it is a great opportunity to receive additional coaching to expound upon what skills are being taught at school.
Club members will have scheduled practice one night each week from October to July.
*Eligibility
The club is open to those 10-17 years old with or without experience shooting a rifle. Experience includes participating with a high school rifle team, 4-H team or other shooting organization. For those interested but have little to no experience, participants are encourage to complete the Explore Air Rifle program at the Shooting Sports Education Center.
**Club Dues and Fees
Yearly membership fees are $150 which provides members the use of the firearms range during practice and for any additional training time. Club dues are $40/month. Equipment (rifle and gear) can be provided for an additional $15/month. Club practice is once a week on electronic targets.
