Alcohol Edu
Alcohol Edu, a required course for all incoming first-year undergraduate from Vector Solutions, encourages students to reflect on their drinking and encourages safe decision making. This course is available for incoming undergraduate who are required to complete the course during their first semester at GS. All eligible students will receive an email with information on how to complete this course, as well as the due date.
Substance Use Skills & NARCAN Administration Training
AOD Bystander Intervention is a risk reduction training program which teaches the students about increasing safety through substance use skills. Within this workshop, the students will learn about the definition of alcohol and the effects it has on the body, definition of BAC, standard drink sizes, multiple harm reduction strategies, bystander intervention, NARCAN administration and the Georgia Southern amnesty policy. To request a live training or to be enrolled in the folio course, please complete the outreach request form HERE.
We have partnered with the Office of Student Conduct to provide students who have received an alcohol or drug conduct violation with Alcohol and Other Drugs Bystander Intervention, Substance Use Skills training, and/or individualized wellness coaching. To pay conduct violation fees, please do so through the Georgia Southern Marketplace HERE.
Upstander Certificate
Don’t just be a bystander… learn how to step up and help your fellow Eagles! In partnership with The Counseling Center and the Georgia Southern Sexual Assault Response Team, we are offering the following bystander intervention programs: GS Cares, Substance Use Skills and Narcan Administration Training, and Question, Persuade, Refer. Complete all three trainings to receive an Upstander Certificate
